A fantastic Carrera 2.7 RS Touring Replica. This car is an absolute blast! It handles, drives and sounds fantastic.
It’s a bit of an odd one for us, as all the cars we sell are the best they can be, whereas this car is offered with room for improvement.
We bought the car in Australia with the intention of both restoring and improving it.
The restoration would have included a full engine rebuild with performance upgrades, gearbox rebuild, RS seats, new carpets, full paint, upgraded brakes and suspension, new hoses/pipes, and a new wiring loom.
Due to other restoration commitments, we have decided to offer it for sale ‘as is’, for a short period of time.
This leaves the prospective buyer with a quandary – whether to use it as is, or to invest in improving the car.
It certainly already has all of the elements required to make a brilliant RS Evocation, which are now realising prices in excess of £85,000.00 for a good one, leaving a handsome profit for the new owner.
The car is not a back-date. It features the perfect blend of a lighter 1970 911E bodyshell mated to a more modern 1985 Carrera 3.2 Motronic engine and a 915 5spd gearbox – giving approximately 250hp for its 975kg kerb weight, along with great drivability.
This RHD car is also fitted with an expensive George Cairns sports exhaust, giving an enhanced driving experience and an easier breathing engine.
Hand-picked, and imported into the UK from Australia by ourselves, the car is well maintained but lacks history beyond 7 years ago – another great reason to restore it, and in effect, create a new car where history is no longer an issue.
Four new tyres and a new clutch were fitted when last serviced approximately 4500 miles ago,
The interior is in great condition and the body is rust free with straight panels, as would be expected in a car from sunnier climes.
