This 1992 928 S4 evokes the 1990’s in every way.
It was delivered new by AFN Reading on 25th November 1992 in Amethyst Purple Metallic with a matching, and oh-so period, interior.
The car is presented in excellent condition, belying the car’s warranted mileage of circa 100k, which is testament to the care of the previous owners.
Only a moment in the car’s presence and it’s clear that the car has been both cherished and pampered throughout its life, with no obvious signs of restorative work..
With its distinctive colour scheme and dramatic interior, this is certainly a car to turn heads. It’s an amazing machine and looks like no other car before or since, with inspired styling that will never go out of date.
It’s no wonder most people specified the automatic gearbox, as this is a true GT car and the automatic gearbox offers seamless changes which perfectly complements the long-legged 5.0-litre V8.
Considering that it was Porsche’s flagship model for almost two decades, with all the engineering integrity and supercar performance that this implies, it is really surprising that you can still pick them up for such modest sums today.
However, with a car of such pedigree, maintenance and provenance is important. With this car, we have a comprehensive service history comprising of a stamped service book and many invoices and MOT certificates.
Since June 2016 the car has been SORN but will be supplied fully recommissioned, serviced, and with a fresh MOT.
Compared to an air-cooled 911, the 928 offers astonishing value for money – a situation that will not last much longer as prices have already begun to rise sharply. It’s certainly one to buy now before everyone else comes to the same conclusion.
