1978 (S) Aston Martin V8

This 1978 Aston Martin V8 Series 3 Automatic is finished in Windsor Red with Biscuit Leather Interior and Fawn carpet, and represents a great opportunity to own a delightfully usable and reliable 1970’s V8 Aston that benefits from considerable recent expenditure.

The current owner bought the car from the previous owner’s estate following his 22 years of custodianship. Unfortunately, due to the previous owner’s passing, much of the car’s history has been misplaced, but it is obvious to see that this is a car that has clearly been well maintained. Works completed under his care include a steering rack and brake calliper overhaul, reconditioning of the brake servo and master cylinder; fitting of a JMB uprated water pump; an uprated alternator with integral regulator; a Taylor Engineering auxiliary electric vacuum pump for the braking system, and Lucas spot lamps.

Upon purchasing the car in 2024, the current owner has spent circa £40k for the car to present as you see it here today.

Carried out EAB Classics of Essex, the works included extensive restoration of the chassis with all areas of known concern for this model being rectified to the highest standard, including replacement of the sills, suspension refurbishment, and fitment of an upgraded braking system. 

The renowned Cambridge Concours of Hertfordshire implemented various interior improvements including a new roof-lining, and much more besides, creating an enviably presentable driving environment. 

Taking to the road, you find yourself sat before the more sought-after wooden instrument binnacle from the older model V8, and gripping a wooden steering wheel.

On the move, the car drives exceptionally well with the quick-starting and smooth-running v8 delivering plenty of power and the perfect soundtrack, while the automatic gearbox slides through the gears with perfect ease, and with a directness to the steering that puts other lesser V8s to shame.

The car has covered 75,500 miles and will be supplied with a 12-month market-leading extendable warranty, a no-advisory MOT and will be further subjected to our rigorous Pre-Delivery Inspection.
